Unfortunately, sometimes people die unexpected and their Will and other important documents are in a safe deposit box. If the bank will not allow the family and heirs to enter the safe deposit box with a death certificate and a valid driver's license, Texas courts have a procedure where the court will issue an order for a safe deposit box to be opened or drilled and the contents inventoried. These procedures often allow the family to obtain a Will and proceed with the probate process.
